Frequently Asked Question
Resin is the material that is used by the 3D printers to create these awesome products! When uncured resin does have a bit of an odor to it, but the curing process eliminates most of that. You might still have a minor odor, and nothing to be concerned about, but after priming the pieces this will go away. We use a variety of resins and are always upgrading our recipes, but it is best to keep in mind that these products are not factory produced and can be fragile. We try to limit fragile parts in the design and prototype printing phases with drop tests. Resin can be fickle at times, it doesn't much like the cold, so warming up pieces in some hot water (boiling hot water can damage pieces) is good practice.
When designing and printing 3D parts, more specifically head designs, a choice was made to make the opening for the neck to be larger in size. It is a common practice because with a little sticky tack, wax, or some hot glue, the head can be fixed in place, without making it permanent. This design choice also allows the head to fit on a variety of different action figures.
Great question! We strive to ship out 3D printed parts that require minimal cleaning. We want you to be able to get started right away with your projects. Markings or scratches generally are superficial and they are not noticeable after a coat of primer or paint. It is always good practice before painting any 3D printed parts to start with a coat of primer. There are a variety of primers on the market and this gives a nice even coat of paint to work on.
